Should this be done after booting the install disk?

It is crashing on the install. Right after it ask for Desktop/server/custom
install. AT that point it comes back no available drives

It is version 2.3 That came witht the 40 G hard drive. Before Fdisk(dos
ver) came back with would you like to enable large disk support? Now it
does not ask.

After fighting all weekend, I still have not got a linux server up. I have
the new computer with the LinModem, then the other one with the 56K Jumpered
modem (trouble is it is isa, and the new computer does not have any isa
slots, so I need a pci, and I have not found a single pci with jumpers
[either plug and pray or winmodem])

Mike

get linux to read the hard drive. I have removed the ez drive from it, but
linux comes back with "no available resources" or read error on hda boot
sector. Windows has no problem reading this. I want to wipe the drive back
to new condition
