[linux-help] Clues on Lucent modem.

I down loaded the binary for the lucent modem and I have it installed as a 
loaded module.  Trouble, on boot, it comes back with compiled for kernel 
2.??.14, and system is running 2.??.16 kernel.  There is not any source code to 
rebuild with my kernel, and it will not run on this kernel.  Anybody, any 
clues?  This is pissing me off, that I cannot make linux run on the net!  I 
bought this new modem, because it said "Supports Linux" on the box, so I bought 
it without thinking about whether I had any isa slots on my new M/B.
