Exactly, which is why I think we should combine G & I, and 8 & T.

In fact, beyond the two new categories suggested ("d/D" for all "Page Layout 
Files" like Adobe *.PDF and QuarkExpress *.QXD; and "v/V" for "all Video 
Files"), the only other type I would add at this time in history would be "M/m" 
for "miscellaneous non-executable" (some examples being *.XLS, *.PPT, *.DB, 
*.TTF, and *.C).

I would really suggest that any further typing beyond what is already de 
facto standard should be based around content-types.  They are so widely 
used that anything else is less, not more, simple.
