Great work, Cameron! Installed without trouble (needed this link to
figure out how to install an .xpi from file:
http://seopen.com/firefox-extension/help.php).

Everything I tried out in the few minutes I had looked operational;
tried some file downloads and those worked as advertised. I really
like the "home page" concept when you type gopher:// ... maybe this
should be the default page to be displayed when a gopher request is
returned as unresolvable.

I'll do some more thorough testing as time permits. Here is some info
that might be useful to you or others:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9b3) Gecko/2008020513
Firefox/3.0b3

Running under xubuntu-7.10. Note that the default firefox-3.0 package
is an alpha version and will *not* work (as Cameron has already
stated). Easy way to get to 3.0b3 is to:

1. Install the xubuntu firefox-3.0 package ("sudo aptitude install
firefox-3.0")

2. Follow these instructions to upgrade to FF3b3:
http://www.topicalmatt.com/category/linux ("Firefox 3 Beta 2 in Ubuntu
7.10").  Just download beta 3...
