Wondering,

auto-attach can be a good idea.
The auto attaching unit must have a place to comeback after its
mission is complete.
For exemple, a battleship is between two islands.
The battleship sees a transport and try to hunt it.
If the battleship has gone too far from its initial place,
it will come back to its initial place.
For bombers, have a list of weigthed targets (either destination or
ennemy towns) so that the computer choose where to send which planes.
For fighters, they may be put on reserve for interception.

I was disapointed by the rules used for bombers and fighters in civI and
freciv. It is impossible to protect a bomber between 2 turns.
Which means that if 2 players have advanced fligth the use of
bombers is too much expensive. One possibility will be to allow figthers
to fligth for 2 turns as soon as advanced fligth is known.

During a civI game, i loose an armor which was protected by a bomber.
Because, the bomber was shot down by a fighter.
Is this nonsense can happen during a freeciv game ?
It's nonsense because in a figth between a fighter and an armor
the odd is against the figther.
