Fedora 2 comes with automake 1.8.3 and autoconf 2.59 by default. But I
think I tried automake 1.7.x and autoconf 2.59 and that didn't work
either. Perhaps this is a bug in automake 1.8.3. Are you certain
1.8.5/2.59 are the versions that autogen.sh actually used?
