Jason,
 I acor with you, i thincs (a this moment at lass) this is not a very nice 
topology, but noting in this 
idea is ilegal. All mirroring or reversing as some type of complexity, after a 
mirror-or-reverse-wrap we 
need to normalise dir. 
For semantic i call singularity (in quincuncial discution) if a tile X is too 
near his image x. There 
are not Q and q are very far.
All wraper, exept the simples one are "singularitys" in a less restrictive 
sense. The flat map as 
"singularity" in all borders!, the only Topology without is torus!
