I agree with this. You should add another difficulty level, call it eg
"novice". Look at server/stdinhand.c on how this is done for 'easy' and
'hard', and copy&paste&modify. Then introduce a new AI handicap called
H_SLOWRESEARCH or something, which only 'novice' AIs have, and which slows
down science.
The slowai_grow parameter is not needed, since there already is an
'expansionism' variable for AI difficulty settings which can be reduced
even more for 'novice'.
