I have been associated with projects involving printing on T-shirts
before.  I can't remember about the colours, but I guess you're right,
that might be a problem - well, I think 256 colours could be possible but
expensive.

I liked the one presented.  Even got some of "my" city names there :) 
London and some other british cities was actually placed somewhat at the
right spot, I consider that as a bug. :)

.jpg is not lossless, thus it might be a bad idea.  They only accepted the
T-shirt printings delievered _ON PAPER_ (!) when we were printing our
T-shirts.  I was a bit worried that the smaller text would be obscured due
to bad resolution, but it wasn't (well, it eventually became after enough 
visits to the washing machine - the tshirt should eventually have been
washed inside-out).

I've heard something that you can see the whole map when you've lost the
