Well, I've a copy of civ2 (2.62 scenarios) and civ2tot, and I've checked
this, well, the manual says the same as you, with 20 'final' turn more
(for every level).

BUT, if you experience with the game, you'll found that this is
different!

For different level you get different number of turns, but the number of
turns supplied, are not correct IMHO.

Deity level calendar is as follow:
50 years/turn since 4000BC until 1000BC: 60 turns
25 years/turn since 1000BC until 1AD: 40 turns
20 years/turn since 1AD until 1500AD: 75 turns
10 years/turn since 1500AD until 1750AD: 25 turns
2 years/turn since 1750AD until 1850AD: 50 turns
1 year/turn since 1850AD until 2000AD: 150 turns
1 year/turn since 2000AD until 2020AD: 20 turns (final turns)
for a total of 420 turns...

Emperor level calendar is as follow:
50 years/turn since 4000BC until 1000BC: 60 turns
25 years/turn since 1000BC until 1AD: 40 turns
20 years/turn since 1AD until 1000AD: 50 turns
10 years/turn since 1000AD until 1500AD: 50 turns
5 years/turn since 1500AD until 1750AD: 50 turns
2 years/turn since 1750AD until 1850AD: 50 turns
1 year/turn since 1850AD until 2000AD: 150 turns
1 year/turn since 2000AD until 2020AD: 20 turns (final turns)
for a total of 470 turns...

King level calendar is as follow:
50 years/turn since 4000BC until 1000BC: 60 turns
25 years/turn since 1000BC until 1AD: 40 turns
10 years/turn since 1AD until 1500AD: 150 turns
5 years/turn since 1500AD until 1750AD: 50 turns
2 years/turn since 1750AD until 1850AD: 50 turns
1 year/turn since 1850AD until 2000AD: 150 turns
1 year/turn since 2000AD until 2020AD: 20 turns (final turns)
for a total of 520 turns...

Prince, Warlord and Chieftain level calendar is as follow:
20 years/turn since 4000BC until 1000AD: 250 turns
10 years/turn since 1000AD until 1500AD: 50 turns
5 years/turn since 1500AD until 1750AD: 50 turns
2 years/turn since 1750AD until 1850AD: 50 turns
1 year/turn since 1850AD until 2000AD: 150 turns
1 year/turn since 2000AD until 2020AD: 20 turns (final turns)
for a total of 570 turns...

This is probably a typo, the 1 year turn started for all level at 1850.

This is indeed correct but only for emperor calendar, other calendar
jump some of these step.

Anyway this is not ALL the story...

1) If you manage to build Apollo program BEFORE the 150th turn you're not
allowed to build spaceship parts

2) After you LAUNCH your spaceship (or someone else launches it) the
calendar promptly start to follow the '1 year/turn' calendar

3) If the capital city of the involved civilization is conquered or that
civilization is destroyed, the spaceships return to earth BUT the
calendar still goes with 1 year/turn. (The amount of total turns allowed
does not change)

So spaceship related calendar of Freeciv, isn't a full original idea,
but it is an 'interpretation' of civilization behavior.
