I've been looking closely at these and am trying to learn more.

An Xterminal may solve some problems and seems to add a couple for me
at least.

I bought a bare-bones machine two years ago with a Soyo MB and VIA
chipset with an Athlon 1.33 GHz processor. I've been getting about six
months out of the chipset fan. I discovered a chipset heatsink that
*may* work with my older MB, but I'm not sure. I think my CPU fan is
starting to make some noise as well. I like to leave that system on
24/7, but it makes enough RF noise that I have to turn it off when
operating on some ham radio bands.

I may solve some of these problems with this system, but I'm not going
to spend a lot on it. I will be more careful with my next desktop
system, however.
