That is very sad.  I hadn't thought about a generator being stolen.  
It's not like a car or stereo--I don't think they have wheels or are 
small enough to be carried off easily.  I don't know--I have never used 
a generator before.  I'm all for putting lots of solar panels on roofs 
or a solar panel dish and only use the electric company as a backup.  I 
just don't have the money to make that change on my house right now.  ~Anne
