I'd venture a guess that almost all of us still use Windows at least to some
extent.

That's because Windows XP is to Windows 98 what a cruise missle is to a
musket.

They aren't even the same type of product.  They just use the same paint,
that's all.

Windows 98 is DOS with a bunch of crap on top to make it look pretty.  All
that crap also makes it unstable.  Imaigne building a 4-bedroom house on top
of a 10'x10' concrete slab.

Windows XP is Windows NT "version 3" (Windows 2000 was version 2).  They
actually went to the effort of digging a hole to pour a proper foundation
here.

They're _entirely_ different products.  The similarities are primarily
superficial.
