Actually I didn't make it up.  However, the change only applies to
DirectTV with Tivo (which is what I have):

This actually makes a little bit of sense because they changed how they
update the listings with DirectTV.  They used to poll for them via dialup
(like with the regular Tivo boxes) but now the box gets the listings via
satellite.
