I do not mind, I was replying to their email when all this occurred.  I was 
just telling them I unpacked the rpm and never once got to run the program, 
due to my schedule.  My Linux box still contains the email from /home/mike, 
and it still contains the varicad directory.  I did a restore from my 
Western Digital EZ Drive diskette and it resorted my boot directory which 
had the partitions loaded in them.  AS I cannot run lilo with the 
partitions being controlled by the western digital bios enhancement (old 
motherboard )  When the master boot record was destroyed, I only had C 
drive in Windoz.  I lost d/e/f in windoz, and all of the linux drives.  I 
did not save anything, I killed the computer and loaded in the hard drive 
diskette and restored my hard drive.  Strange thing was the windows drives 
did not die until I ran linux after it crashed.  I had a complete windoz, 
and just problems with linux, but my / directory was still intact.  Then 
when I cycled power down, it never came back up right.  only hda1 was 
there, all other drives were gone.

once again, I've downloaded (multipule copies of ) both the
varicad demo and the 30 day key.
what you are describing is an isolated case and i doubt has
anything to do with varicad.
when the key expires, you start getting a message that
states that the demo version will no longer save.  That is
all!

I would recommend contacting them.
if someone is using their return email address to crash
peoples machines it would be hard to prove after your
machine is gone.

would you mind if i contacted them.
if there is something up i will pull them from my site.
