Heh... Just be sure to disable any unneeded daemons (comment things out of
/etc/inetd.conf, etc). With older versions of RedHat, you want to be very
sure not to leave any open security holes.

The most correct term is probably "gateway." It also serves as a proxy, in
a manner of speaking, and technically, it also does routing, therefore is a
router, although "router" usually refers to something that does more "heavy
duty" routing (such as one or more T1s).
