First, thanks for those who replied to my OpenGL question.

This is video card topic relates to something I was wondering earlier
today. I always hear about how certain video cards (like the Voodoo3) are
suggested for certain computer games.  Are special graphics libraries that
are used to write the games (like OpenGL) built into the cards or drivers,
or something like that? If so, I may consider getting a new video card to
use for my OpenGL class next semester. It sounds like it takes a bit of
horsepower to run OpenGL without hardware assistance like the SGIs.
