is this a pci card?
if so, what does /proc/interrupts say?

i have an smc(WD clone) ethernet card that worked well on my older PHT 2.0 system (kernel 2.0.33)but
my newer RH 5.2 (2.0.36) won't see it.
i changed over because the RH 5.2 uses less disk space.
i've already recompiled the kernal once(first time).
but did not seem to help.
tomarrow i'm going to start over again any ideas?

on the card it read:

smc
83c690ljp
f9311
6t71389

it has two jumpers W1 and W2
i have both set to soft.
