That's what I recall.  After creating the first primary partition, DOS
6.22 fdisk absolutely insisted that the next partition be extended with
logical DOS drives.  This was on a new drive and was about two years ago
when I installed it on this machine.  I do recall then using the Linux
fdisk to create /dev/hda2 and /dev/hda3.  I went back to DOS fdisk to
then create /dev/hda5 just for fun.  I think it was having my Linux
partitions as primary that "saved" me when installing Win95 later on,
from what I've read since.

FWIW, let this tagent to the thread die.  It's not important and I'm not
going to fire up DOS just to see if I'm wrong!
