I have used that setup in Debian (2.0 and 1.3), in Slackware, and in Red
Hat.  It should work in *any* distribution.  It does NOT, however, take
advantage of any particular distribution's PPP "advantages".  Debian 2.0,
for example, comes with some nifty PPP configurations which make
configuring PPP easier...  but the instructions on the page should work
with any distro.
