Yeah, that was the first thing I tried. It didn't work, so I double checked
everything and tried it again. It still didn't work, so I reinstalled linux
and followed John's instructions again. It still didn't work, so I double
checked everything and tried it again. Then I tried to connect with Red Hat's
net config X-tool. That wouldn't connect either. Tried it a couple of more
times, nothing doing. Then I thought, maybe try another ISP, shazam, it
worked. Yes, that leaves me very confused. My guess is that it is something
I am overlooking, but I don't know what, and no one else has guessed it
either. Oh well, at least I know it is possible to get a ppp connection now,
and that knowledge shall keep me trying for a SW connection. Oh, I can
connect to SW in a shell with minicom, just not ppp. That's pretty handy,
but I still need ppp.
Thanks for the advice,
Wayne
