Hi Jesse.
Ok one thing at a time, first did you get the latest sound drivers from:
http://www.opensound.com/ossfree ?
I believe the latest version is something like 3.9 now, I have 3.8o and
it made a BIG difference. Download and install it as the kernels
sources include an older sound driver, around version 3.5, and configure
your kernel for the Ensoniq per the Readme.cards file, exactly. I just
looked at mine and it has quite a bit on the Ensoniq series. It may be
that proper support is available only in the commercial version (NDAs
and all :( )
