...you will notice that they do have January 23, 2001 archvived, and the 
article in question appears here:

While one might suspect the Onion of tampering with their archives, 
I doubt they would be able to bribe the Internet Archive. The prescience 
of the article is almost scary. I'll have to check out the Onion 
right after every election. :)
