Samba isn't really that hard if you look at the documentation. Just make
sure that you have the same workgroup defined in both Windows and Linux.
Make sure "os level" is set to something like 50. Set "domain master" to
yes, and "preferred master" to yes. It's also highly recommended to set
"wins support" to yes, and then on Windows, go to TCP/IP properties and
"Enable WINS Resolution" and add your Linux box's IP in the "WINS Server
Search Order".  After you've changed smb.conf, you need to kill and restart
the samba daemons: smbd and nmbd. How you do this will depend on whether
they are stand alone daemons, or started from inetd.  If started from inetd,
you can just issue "killall smbd" and "killall nmbd" (as root), as they will
automatically restart.  Otherwise, you will have to go to init.d and
stop/restart them from there.
