[gopher] UI design of the next new gopher client?

I've been reviewing some of the older gopher clients around, mostly WS_Gopher, 
and HGopher, I used WS_Gopher back in the day,.and I always thought it was a 
great program, but times have changed since 1994 when it was first released.
The biggest question is should it be an SDI program, an MDI program, or 
something else?

HGopher is a SDI (Single Document Inferface) window with back/forward buttons. 
Other modern examples 
are firefox, IE, and most programs

WS_Gopher is a MDI program, like older versions of Office (MDI sorta died out, 
but it comes and goes).

I could also implement a tabbed browsing system for Gopher. Any suggestions are 
welcome.
