Yes, this list was meant to answer questions like your own.

It only measures the number of Libraries, Universities or other science
increasing improvements.  Literacy is the least useful statistic of
all; it doesn't reflect the state of technology in a nation at all,
which is what you'd expect.  The most useful statistics are Production
and Economics.
