-games?  -playing?  -players?  -alert sounds way too serious IMHO.
Having an actual announce list would probably be useful.

Is there enough volume to need seperate -dev and -patches lists?  A CVS
list would be good though - perhaps autogenerated whenever a patch
actually goes in.
