  Can you connect with 98 client to XP server if server is not connected 
to metaserver? Which versions and where from are you using?

  I have sometimes got "no such file or directory" error when I have 
tried to connect with XP client to server, which probably was not 
currently running (ie I tried to connect to port where was no server 
listening)
