Tall terrain is one of the features needed to make "isometric heightmaps"
work in Freeciv. - It's like the maps in Transport Tycoon. I made a
prototype for this some time ago, but there were some things I just could not
get right.
Here's what such a map looks like:

So this tall terrain patch, (and some patches for choosing the terrain
sprite based upon the calculated height of the tile (eg. distance from
water + some randomness) would make such maps possible. - Just some thing
I thought would be cool :)
