I replaced the '#' comments at the end with '##' double comments and an
empty line and it worked. But I needed to apply by hand the changes the
patch makes in configure.in to configure.ac as well.

In 24-bits fs:x11, the screen looks chopped up by a 3rd or a 4th on the
right. On 24-bits fs:sdl it complained something about the font and died
with an assert.

On 16-bits it runs both on fs:x11 and fs:sdl, but the map does not
display. The map area is black. Just the bottom panel and the chat area on top
are displayed. I had to apply the patch by hand in mapview_common.c
due to recent CVS HEAD changes.
