You can cause endyear to be called at year nine typing:

/set endyear 9--

It sets the endyear to 9 even when the current year is
600. Found this one by mistake :). Haven't looked at
the code but should be easy to get around. My favorite
method would be to fail the command if any non 0-9 
character is in the field.
