Perhaps, I'm the only one that is waiting this development cycle's
ending?

Today I've seen in the changes.txt file in the cvs that the freeze-thaw
patch by Raimar has been applied by Vasc. Is that patch a bugfix?
It seems not to me...

It looks like a performance improvement, a damned good one, a perhaps
long time needed, but defining it a bugfix seems unappropriate to me.
I found a bug, PR#1508, that perhaps is related to this, but solving a
performance problem, during the beta period, changing the behavior of
the update of all the clients, isn't a risk looking to the development
process side? The patch has been playtested, and I believe this, but
what if there is some little bug lurking in the middle? Isn't this
possible?

Do you remember when feature freeze started? If you don't remember, read
this again:

We are in a "feature freeze" time since then, and probably the new
stable will not be out before July (or August...).

Many of mine patches, that introduces more compatibility to civ II,
has been freezed because "they are new features, not bugfix", and they
are simple oneliner.

And not only mine, there is the impr-gen patch from Ben Webb, waiting
since February or more, and he is continuing to stay tuned to the cvs
changes to have his patch ready when the "feature freeze" time ends.
And many more...

Well, there is one or more than one of the maintainers that want to say
something about this?
If I got something in the wrong way, please, be patient, and try to
explain me the correct way...

Please, not too many...
