Makes sense to avoid potentially destabilizing code at the moment. Is
1.12.0 the same as 1.11.5? (That also makes sense, since the current
CVS has more than minor maintenance...).

Is there anything like a release plan at the moment? My guess is that
things would benefit from an immediate beta release...
