Actually, that depends on the tile size and map size. 
With 30x30 tiles and a reasonable (eg 80x50) size map, it just
fits ok for me on 800x600 if I push the title bar off the top 
of the screen :-)

Under other conditions (bigger tiles, bigger maps), detaching 
more components is still a solution for small screens.
