Sure. Actually, for a while now, NEWS has mentioned "alliances"
as something we're intending to do, but I wasn't aware whether it
was actively being worked on recently.
I suggest that after we release 1.8.0 we make a new roadmap.
(Or at least, extend the current one :-)
