I have to agree... the gtk version and the configure system that builds
either xaw or gtk depending on what is on your system is IMHO good enough
to warrrant inclusion into freeciv _now_, rather than wait the many months
it will take to get to version 1.8.

I think the other people on this list with knowledge of gtk will be more
encouraged to help if this was the case. So far all the work on the gtk
code has been done by Vasco alone (and he has done a great job too).
