Nah, a $100 for 64MB is ridiculous unless it is some FP 30-pin simm.  
I see that the MoBo has 2 DIMM slots.  Were you trying to add memory or 
replace memory?  Mismatching memory speeds, CAS latencies, etc. is never 
a good idea.  Since you already know about Crucial why don't you send 
your friend to Crucial to purchase memory?  A $100 will buy 512MB of 
memory for your friends computer (tax excluded).

We have well over 6GB of Crucial memory in production over here
(everything from mail servers to Cisco 7200VXR's).
