Hello, David!
I have found out that the propriatary machines like HPs often take
special memory. The timings on their memory are slightly different than
generic memory, enough to make trouble. I have put generic PC100 into our
Compaqs and they boot but don't stay running (under LINUX). I had to go
to custom memory. I have had good luck with www.1stchoicememory.com.
You can call them up and tell them your machine model and they'll look it
up in a book and figure out what it needs.
Hope this helps,
