You are correct Dale both of the systems in question have built-in modems..
but only 1200-baud modems at the max.

Currently all the known alarms systems that use ground based wire suggest
that you use a second line and not be connected to the same phone
number/line as your DSL line because this causes line noise into the DSL
signal.

So currently due to fact that I have to pay all the same taxes on my second
phone line as I do my first line... my second phone line which is being used
only for these two systems is costing me an extra $35 per month...  $420
year.. on top the fees for their services... And if I was going to be paying
for an extra line why not a cell phone line... with all of its features?!?
