If you want to go with dial-up then I would suggest OurTownUSA.  

If you are wanting a fairly fast connection, then I would suggest either
Roadrunner or DSL.  RR goes down sometimes, but they are fairly
reliable.  DSL has its times that it is fast and sometimes that it is
slow, according to some of my friends who use DSL.  Some people have had
problems with the PPPOE protocol on linux.  Lately there have been more
people on broadband in the evening it gets kind of slow, after about
10:30pm it gets faster when a lot of people get off the net.
