[aclug-L] Windows question - CPU speed

This isn't a Linux question and it isn't pressing, but I thought I would
throw it out anyway. My brother got a company laptop as part of his
job. He is curious what the CPU speed is; doesn't need to know, but would
like to. It is a proprietary laptop, Gateway I think, and has a nice logo
cover up the POST screen so you don't see the usual start-up
information. Under Linux it would be a simple 'more /proc/cpuinfo|grep
MHz' and I would have it. I couldn't find the CPU speed anywhere in Windows.
Here at work, running NT, I searched the registry for mhz and found the
speed under
hkey_local_machine/hardware/description/system/centralprocessor/0.
However, when I got home, I discovered the same key doesn't exist under
Win98. Does anyone know of a way to find out the CPU speed under Windows
98? It is not a pressing issue and next time I see my brother I will take
a Linux CD with me, however, it should be possible and I am probably
looking in the wrong place.
Thanks,
Ryan
