[aclug-L] What technically is called linux?

I see that palmtops are called linux.  I see that a car is linux based, even
though it is microprocessor based, and a multilprocessored.  (not pc based)
There is a refrigerator which claims to be linux based?  

I may be slow, but I am not about to take my frige online!
