In /etc/hosts, I have localhost at 127.0.0.1, and all the other machines
listed have an address in the range of 172.16.1.1 to 4, with the first one
being the Linux box/server.

The reason I've been asking so many questions is that I'm extremely busy
with school, so much that I haven't had time to rtfm. That said, the cable
modem service that wouldn't be available to my neighborhood until January
is now suddenly available. IP masquerading has risen to a higher priority
at this point.

So, which is better - ipchains or ipfwadm? For when I get a chance to do a
little research, where is the best documentation on the subject?

thanks,
john
