Thanks for the replies!!
In reply to the replies:
Like I said in one of my first postings.. I am a Linux Newbe and just
learning totally on my own, so what might seem simply to you is 'French Pig
Latin' to me...
(1) I have not recompiled my Kernel.. Just got the hardware to working the
way that "I" think it should (modem, soundcard, 'NIC') so how does one tell
if the VFAT is being loaded? (Partition is not FAT32.. Read somewhere in a
magazine never to use FAT32 on a harddrive that has been partitioned.)
(2) Was really looking for some sort of 'TASK SWITCHER' between operating
systems.. I know that Linux will restart its Kernel with out the need to
'reboot' the hardware... Maybe the HOW TO when I get a chance to read it
will tell me more??
Again Thanks!

Make sure you have VFAT or FAT32 compiled into the kernel or as a
module, then simply:
mount /dev/partition /mnt/point -t msdos
or -t vfat.

Loadlin ran from a DOS prompt, if I remember correctly.
Couple possibilities off the top of my head:
a) linux boot disk in floppy drive; Win -> shutdown -> reboot
-- make sure BIOS has booting from floppy enabled
b) LILO; linux is default target; Win -> shutdown -> reboot
c) LILO; win95 is default target; Win -> shutdown -> reboot -> pick
linux
d) See if loadlin will behave normally running in a Windows DOS
window.

I would think so, but haven't had personal experience with cable
modems.
