Gary,

I'm afraid I can't help with this specific problem, but here are some
places that you can check for assistance:

 * www.xfree86.org
     Homepage for the X server you've got, has links to support info
 * Usenet newsgroups, look under the comp hierarchy, maybe comp.os; I 
   forget the exact name.
 * Mailing lists for your distribution
