the dif b/n mc and tkmc is that mc (the orig) is a text interface similar to 
pine
or Xconfigurator (in RedHat)...  tkmc is a port of mc to tcl/tk, which makes it 
a
graphical X program...  also, gmc is another one...  this is GNOME's mc, which 
uses
the gtk+ widgets set... personally, i find it very nice, especially w/ the 
GtkSTeP
theme! : ^ )
