I think it has to do with the way they handle PNP...  When you switched
slots, your sound card would now be on a differant interrupt (or at
least your BIOS would notice something changed.)

Yea.. Your BIOS most likely did...  I'd not blame windows this time,
unless you know your BIOS is not doing the configuration of the PNP
stuff..

Personally, I've had much more troubble with 95 than linux...  But hey,
that may just be me.
