Question To look at my dos par.  I made an entery in my /etc/fstab That reads
like /dev/hda1 /mnt/c: VFAT defaults 00. I also made a dir called c: and
linked it to /mnt/c:
 is this correct? It worked.

congradulations, you have taken your first steps into a larger world.
My other question is with /dev/floppy being ext2
file sys.
I wanted to read DOS files on a floppy but it could not read them.
you can make your floppy either msdos or ext2.  personally i have only needed it to be ext2 once in 3 years.
but i exchange bmp's and jpg's from time to time.
So I used
Linuxconf in Red Hat to change to file sys. Is there an easier way than
changing it every time. >>

Oh I've slipped the surly bonds of dos
