You're just fine as it is.  2.0.7pre6 is actually a prerelease for
2.0.7, I believe.  So don't worry.

.so is the actual form of any (shared) library on the system once it's 
installed.  Think of it sorta like the .DLL on Windows boxen, just
better :-)
