ok, i'm now running WindowMaker w/ GNOME, and i'm trying to get the
settings for xscreensaver working (using GNOME's wetup prog)... whenever i
start up X, it puts up the xscreensaver demo mode dialog box, and it's
REALLY annoying... then, when i tell it to use the pacman (or any other)
for the default timeout screensaver (the one that comes up after X amount
of minutes, it won't work correctly...it gives me some error that it can't
do some sort of mapping keys or attaching keys (i don't remember the exact
error, but i'll write back when i find it) and doesn't display anything...
also, it uses a different "login" when the box is locked...different from
the one that comes up when i manually lock the box, or when i ""test" the
screensaver.. any ideas what's going on? the default login i'm talking
about is the one where the screen is black w/ white text, and has a small
"icon that displays ta thumbnail view of the screensaver... click on it,
and ti's back to locked...or type your pass word (know what i'm talking
about?) ... this one compues up when i manually lock the box and test the
screensaver i want to use, but when it times out, it brings up the
xscreensaver lock dialog box (it's a grey dialog w/ the skull and X
logo).. how do i make this consistant? i am using a newer version of
xscreensaver... it seems to me as if maybe the lock menu itme uses xlock
and the other uses xscreensaver, but everything works great when i try to
test the timeout screensaver
IDEAS?!?!?!
jesse
p.s. i'll soon be positing another screenshot to my webpage of this
desktop (www2.southwind.net/~kaufmjes)... feel free to brows there & tell
me what you think!
